What are the ways in which we hold ourselves up, push ourselves down and disconnect from the relationships (human and non-human) that are all around us? How do we notice and wake up to these unconscious patterns? What are some practices of interrupting these patterns so that we can choose connectivity, support and resource? Through the lens of The Alexander Method we understand that this material is embodied in our physiology and it is through the felt sense where we feel our old patterns of disconnect. And it is through our felt sense where new choices of more support can become our new patterning.
In this two day workshop we offer practical tools and practices to integrate into your everyday life. This workshop is for anyone wanting more support and enrichment of the quality of themselves. The workshop is for beginners and advanced practitioners, there is always another layer to uncover.
In this workshop there will be movement, lying down, walking, settling in. There will be reflection, we write to ourselves and we talk with the group. There will be some body mapping where we feel into our anatomy and the “shape” of us. There will be hands on work (hands on your body) if you permit and only with trained teachers of the Alexander Method. We do this in a group container because it is through others practicing what we are practicing that supports the practices!
This two day workshop is meant to be taken in its entirety. We understand that this time commitment might be difficult for some and thus we offer the option of participating in one or both days.
Payment will be taken at the time of the workshop. For any additional questions please email Tahni Holt ( hello@tahniholt.com) or DeeAnn Nelson (deeann.nelson@gmail.com).
